We have a critical window to push Texas to expand Medicaid to include uninsured adults.
In June, Texas submitted an application for Medicaid dollars, taking your public comments and testimony along the way. Now, that application has reached the federal government.
The Biden administration wants to hear your feedback between now and August 30.
Texas’ proposal asks for federal Medicaid dollars to help cover safety net hospitals and mental health providers that treat uninsured patients (in what’s called an “1115 Medicaid waiver”). We support funding for these crucial services, but this is not a substitute for healthcare coverage.
Texans deserve regular check-ups, ongoing treatment for chronic illnesses like asthma, and affordable access to medication—not just emergency care.
Join us & urge the Biden administration to make sure health coverage for Texans in the coverage gap is included in their Medicaid funding deal with Texas.
If you submitted a public comment through our portal in June, you’re all set! If not, we still need your voice. Let’s let our federal leaders know how important Medicaid expansion is for our communities.
Thank you for helping us shape the future of healthcare in Texas!
